MEET AYO UKO
Growing up surrounded by beautifully and elegantly attired men and women, inspired a desire in Ayo at an early age to transform ordinary materials into unique items. This desire expressed initially in clothing design and dressmaking, has developed over the years into a passion for Millinery. Ayo’s influences come from a rich background of cultures including East and West Africa, Europe and the USA. Ayo was born in Mzuzu Malawi. She grew up in Lagos Nigeria where she attended Medical School. On graduating she lived and worked in various parts of the United Kingdom for several years. It was in the United Kingdom that Ayo developed her creative skills in Millinery. In 2008 Ayo Uko Ltd. was born as a unique entity “My aim is to offer clients the opportunity to own timeless, beautifully designed and unique Hats that enhance their individual style and elegance. Hats they can enjoy for a lifetime! I enjoy the opportunity to continuously explore and with various materials and designs. The ultimate satisfaction for me is seeing the confidence and joy in the faces of my clients wearing the Hats that complement their own definitive style. Welcome and enjoy my world of Hats!” |
